Contributions from Wealth Advisors and Industry Leaders Doubles Amount Raised Last Year

NEW YORK – March 14, 2019 – Forbes, in partnership with SHOOK Research, today announced that 1,000 attendees raised $1 million for Children’s Cancer Research Fund at the third-annual Top Advisor Summit, beating last year’s record by nearly $500,000. The sold-out event, which convened in Las Vegas, hosts America’s top-ranked advisors, RIA’s and industry leaders who contributed to Children’s Cancer Research Fund.

“Cancer is the biggest killer among children after accidents, and when we come together as one, we can make a difference in cancer research and have a direct impact on saving children,” said R.J. Shook, founder of SHOOK Research. “I promised a two-year old boy, Connor, we will fight this together and that I would do anything I can to help him and others.” Attendees met Connor via a video (http://childrenscancer.org/shook/).

Each year, the Top Advisor Summit is committed to collaborating with different philanthropy partners to bring awareness to different live-saving initiatives. Last year the group raised $546,000 to battle breast cancer.

Children’s Cancer Research Fund is an organization dedicated to providing groundbreaking research to aid in the fight to end childhood cancer. In addition to funding innovative research, this philanthropic partnership provides various support programs for families who have children suffering from cancerous diseases.

All contributions made at this year’s event will enable a clinical trial for a new, potentially lifesaving therapy for children with brain tumors, including glioblastoma, one of the deadliest pediatric cancers.
