About SHOOK Research

SHOOK Research is the industry standard for financial advisor quality and integrity — and the only independent research organization in the world conducting rigorous, in-person due diligence on financial advisors at scale. We are the organization behind the annual rankings of Top Wealth Advisors, Teams, Women Advisors, Next Gen Advisors, RIAs, and Financial Security Professionals, published in partnership with Forbes.

Our rankings are the only ones rooted in face-to-face due diligence. We personally meet with every eligible advisor, evaluating both quantitative performance metrics and the qualitative integrity that numbers alone cannot capture. Advisors and their firms do not pay to be ranked.

Headquartered in Boca Raton, FL, SHOOK operates at the intersection of finance, research, and media. Whether you are an advisor seeking recognition, an investor searching for a trusted professional, or a firm committed to elevating industry standards — SHOOK Research is your benchmark.

About The Role

As a Research Analyst, you will serve as a direct representative of SHOOK Research — a brand ambassador operating at the highest levels of the financial services industry. You will be the critical link between the financial advisors, teams and firms we evaluate and the research and rankings that define industry excellence.

In the field, you will travel nationally, meeting face-to-face with top financial advisors and management at major financial institutions and independent firms across the country, often in partnership with leading asset management firms. You will conduct structured due diligence interviews, build rapport quickly with prominent professionals, and gather the qualitative insights that drive our industry-leading rankings.

In the office, you will work alongside our data and research team. Diving deep into data analysis, identifying trends, and translating findings into meaningful insights that illuminate how top advisors build, manage, and grow their practices.

You will also play an important role in educating advisors on the benefits of SHOOK’s rankings and in-person events, helping them understand the value of participation and rankings in the industry’s most credible recognition program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel nationally a minimum of twice per month to conduct in-person due diligence meetings with financial advisors at their offices, often in partnership with leading asset management firms and across key financial centers
  • Serve as a professional representative and brand ambassador for Shook Research in all advisor interactions, maintaining the credibility and integrity our brand demands
  • Conduct structured qualitative interviews to develop a comprehensive understanding of each advisor’s practice, client approach, and professional philosophy
  • Support firm-level due diligence for the Forbes | SHOOK Top RIA Firms ranking, including survey review, data verification, and regulatory research
  • Communicate the value of SHOOK’s rankings, research, and in-person events to advisors, acting as a knowledgeable conduit between the advisor community and SHOOK’s research team
  • Document meeting findings with accuracy and thoroughness for use in rankings, research outputs, and data analysis
  • Collaborate with the data and research team on due diligence calls, data collection, and analytical initiatives
  • Analyze advisor data to surface patterns, trends, and insights that inform how top advisors operate and scale their businesses
  • Maintain and update records in CRM software as part of ongoing research and relationship management workflows
  • Support project coordination activities including tracking deliverables, managing timelines, and scheduling across research initiatives
  • Contribute to conference and partnership activities as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; background or coursework in finance, economics, or a related field strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in financial services is a significant advantage
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to ask incisive questions and build trust quickly with senior financial professionals
  • Polished, professional demeanor with a strong sense of personal presentation — you will regularly interface with some of the most prominent advisors in the country
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with data sets and research workflows
  • Experience with CRM software or demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Ability and willingness to travel nationally at least twice per month (typically 2–3 nights per trip), with flexibility to travel more frequently as business needs arise
  • Self-motivated, intellectually curious, and eager to grow within a dynamic, fast-paced research environment

Why SHOOK Research

  • Access you can't get anywhere else. From your first months, you'll sit across the table from the most successful advisors and firm leaders in the country — the kind of exposure most people in financial services wait a decade for.
  • Your work is the product. This is a small team, and the research you conduct goes directly into rankings published with Forbes and read by millions. There's no layer between your contribution and the output.
  • Learn the wealth management industry from the inside. Few roles offer a view across every channel — wire houses, independents, RIAs — and across thousands of practices. You'll develop an understanding of how this industry actually works that's hard to build any other way.
  • Room to grow. SHOOK is growing across research, partnerships, and events, and we promote people who earn it.

Our Culture

We're a small, entrepreneurial team that takes the work seriously — integrity is literally our product — without taking ourselves too seriously. We move fast, we're direct with each other, and everyone has a voice regardless of title. The work is relationship-driven, so we hire people who genuinely like people: curious, professional, and comfortable in a room with anyone.

Our clients are asset managers — the firms whose products sit on the shelves of the advisors we evaluate. They partner with SHOOK to gain access to our research, our rankings, and our curated advisor network. Our work sits at the intersection of finance, research, and media, and it matters.

About the Role

As a Client Services & Sales Support Associate, you will be the operational backbone that keeps SHOOK’s asset manager relationships running smoothly. You’ll work directly with our asset manager clients to deliver on the contracts they’ve signed, ensure every commitment is fulfilled on time, and serve as a reliable, responsive point of contact they can count on.

A significant part of this role is event logistics. SHOOK runs national events that bring together top financial advisors and asset manager partners, and you’ll be in the thick of it — managing the logistics, coordinating details, and making sure every event runs without a hitch. You’ll attend these events yourself, representing SHOOK on-site and ensuring clients experience exactly what they signed up for.

Internally, you’ll partner closely with both the sales team and the events team — serving as a key liaison between them and our asset manager clients, keeping everyone aligned and informed. This is a role that rewards people who are organized, communicative, and genuinely invested in doing good work. You’ll have real visibility into how SHOOK grows — and real room to grow with it.

Key Responsibilities

Client Fulfillment

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for asset manager clients, ensuring contracted deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule
  • Track and manage fulfillment across multiple active client contracts simultaneously, flagging risks and resolving issues proactively
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide status updates, answer questions, and build the kind of trust that drives renewals
  • Coordinate internally across research, data, and events teams to ensure client commitments are met

Sales Support

  • Support the sales team with outreach coordination, proposal preparation, and follow-up communications
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM software, ensuring pipeline data, client notes, and activity logs are always current
  • Help prepare materials for client meetings, presentations, and renewals
  • Assist with tracking sales activity and reporting on key metrics to support team decision-making

Event Logistics & On-Site Execution

  • Own end-to-end event logistics for every sponsor across SHOOK national events — managing timelines, deliverables, and communications from contract execution through post-event wrap-up
  • Coordinate sponsor logistics including NDAs, swag bag items and quantities, shipping details, booth setup and breakdown, voucher codes, and registration links
  • Manage sleeping room blocks, attendee registration details, and other on-site logistics in close coordination with the events team registration
  • Serve as the primary liaison between asset manager sponsors and the events team, keeping all parties aligned and informed throughout the event cycle
  • Attend national events as a SHOOK representative, managing sponsor experience on-site and ensuring every contractual commitment is delivered in real time
  • Track deliverables across multiple sponsors simultaneously, identifying and resolving issues before they become problems

Operations & Administration

  • Own administrative workflows that keep the client lifecycle organized — onboarding, contract tracking, and off-boarding
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and propose solutions that help the team work more efficiently

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; background in business, communications, finance, or a related field preferred
  • 0–2 years of professional experience — we’ll teach the right person what they need to know
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; you’re clear, professional, and easy to work with
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail — you notice what others miss and follow through without being asked
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment where things change quickly
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint); familiarity with CRM tools is a plus
  • Willingness and ability to travel nationally to attend SHOOK events; frequency varies by season
  • A collaborative, low-ego attitude and genuine desire to help the team win

Why SHOOK Research

You’ll be in the room.
From your first year, you’ll attend marquee national events like TAS in Las Vegas — working alongside top asset managers and financial advisors at the kind of gatherings most people in financial services don’t access until much later in their careers. This isn’t a back-office role.

Your work shapes real relationships.
The asset managers you support are some of the most influential firms in the industry. The contracts you fulfill aren’t administrative tasks — they’re how SHOOK delivers value to clients who depend on us. You’ll matter here.

You’ll learn the wealth management industry from the inside.
Few entry-level roles give you this kind of exposure to asset managers, financial advisors, and firm-level dynamics all at once. You’ll build a foundation that’s hard to get anywhere else.

Room to grow.
SHOOK is expanding across research, partnerships, and events. People who do good work get more responsibility. This is a place where your career can move fast if you’re ready to earn it.

Competitive compensation.
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience, plus performance-based growth opportunities as you develop in the role.
